Conditions of Use
These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed through this online store, operated on behalf of the University. Please read them carefully before you place an order — by placing an order you agree to be bound by them.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Interpretation
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the University operating this store; "you" refers to the person placing an order; and "products" means the goods, digital items, bookings and services offered for sale.
2. How a contract is formed
Placing an order is an offer to buy. Your order is accepted, and a contract is formed, only when we send you a dispatch or booking confirmation by email. If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will let you know and will not charge you, or will refund any payment already taken.
3. Price and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery charges, where applicable, are shown separately at checkout. You can pay online through IODM's payment platform, or by bank transfer where that option is offered. Where you pay by bank transfer, we may hold your order until payment has cleared. We take care to ensure prices are correct, but if we discover an error we will contact you before processing your order.
4. Availability of products
All products are subject to availability. If a product becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you to offer an alternative or a refund.
5. Delivery
We will deliver to the address you provide within the timescale indicated at checkout. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please see our delivery and returns page for details of options and charges.
6. Customs and import charges
For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, customs duties and local taxes may be charged on arrival. These are your responsibility and are not included in the price you pay us.
7. Cancellation and returns
You may have the right to cancel your order and return goods, as set out in our returns policy. Certain products, including personalised items and event or course bookings, are subject to specific cancellation terms shown at the time of purchase.
8. Conferences, events and courses
Where you book a conference, event, short course or trip, additional terms may apply, including rules on eligibility, attendance and cancellation. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking, and to decline entry or participation where reasonable, subject to any refund due.
9. Digital products
Where a product is supplied as a download or online access, it is made available after payment is confirmed. Once you have accessed a digital product, your right to cancel it may no longer apply.
10. Our liability
We will carry out our obligations with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or that arise from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
11. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for any delay or failure to meet our obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control. Where such an event occurs, we will contact you and, if appropriate, offer a suitable alternative or a refund.
12. Your personal information
We handle your personal data in line with our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this store at the time you place it.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
